DEMERIT POLICY
System does not apply to absences excused by the school or college courses. If a student-athlete accumulates 4 demerits, there will be no consequences. Consequences start at 4.5 demerits. The demerit counts resets at the start of each term.
NOTE:
If your frequent absence from participation negatively affects your team's ability to perform or stunt, coaches may decide if you can participate in that event.
If you exceed the allowed number of demerits for a term, your grade will drop by half a letter grade every .5 demerits accumulated.
Please make yourself familiar of the policy:
Late to ANY call time: If athlete is more than 30 minutes late they will recive a full demerit.

Leaving a practice, game, comp or event early.
0.5 DEMERIT
Gum, jewelry, apple watch, accessories at practice, game, comp or event.
0.5 DEMERIT
Unpreparedness at practice (poms, dress code, cheer shoes).
0.5 DEMERIT
Unpreparedness on GAME DAY. NO gum, jewelry, apple watches and accessories.
1 DEMERIT
Cell phones at practice, games or events.
1 DEMERIT
Unprofessionalism at a game, event, overnight trip or any time you are representing EAST High School to any extent.
1 DEMERIT
Failure to notify Coach Kim of your absence 2 weeks in advance.
1 DEMERIT
Absent from practice, cheer class, game, event or team bonding.
2 DEMERITS
Failure to notify Coach Kim of an absence, whether it be a vacation or an academically excused absence by the school.
